Michelle Pereira

Michelle Pereira (pronounced Purr-Era) is a dynamic vocalist and songwriter from the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario, whose talent has drawn comparisons to music icons like Sara Bareilles, ADELE, and Susan Tedeschi. After graduating college with a degree in Vocal Jazz and a Music Business certificate, she relocated to Nashville in 2015 to hone her audio engineering craft, studying under industry legends John McBride and the late Mark Rubel. Michelle's journey through Nashville’s storied Music Row saw her writing at prestigious publishing giants such as Warner Music and Universal Music. Sponsored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International and Song Suffragettes, she secured a performance work visa, cementing her place in the music industry. Her impressive accomplishments include a feature on the renowned Grand Ole Opry 650AM WSM Radio station in 2018 and selection for the ASCAP GPS 2019 program, which fostered deeper connections with top music publishers. Michelle's songwriting excellence was recognized when she won the Bluebird Cafe Golden Pick contest in 2021, leading to multiple performances at the famed venue. Additionally, she received a FACTOR artist development grant and had her music featured in the Pureflix film "God’s Country Song." Michelle's prolific output includes over 1,000 custom songs for Songfinch, collaborations with celebrities like Gabriel Iglesias and influencers such as Alanna Panday, and more than 1,000,000 Spotify streams from independent artists. Her single "Worthy" charted at #134 on the R&B/Soul Canada iTunes Chart, showcasing her broad appeal and independent success. ​ Recently, Michelle completed a four-month performance engagement with Norwegian Cruise Lines, enchanting audiences across the Asia, the Middle East, South Africa and Europe. In Nashville, she continues to captivate fans at premier venues like City Winery, The Listening Room, and downtown hotels.
